Often times, science communicators are trying to undo the damage caused by a documentary or a certain President that spews utter garbage that is wrong on a specific environmental subject. Science communicators need to work at getting ahead of specific subject matters to ensure that the proper information backed by scientific evidence gets out to the public before other people manipulate the science in order to prove their point.
