The Deep Sea Relative of the jellyfish, Eranna, uses a red bioluminescent light to attract fish into their stinging tentacles. The animal's use of red light in the deep sea is important because researchers have assumed deep sea animals cannot sea red light. Researchers assume fish are lured to the deep sea by this red light in hopes of food and meet their fate instead.
